R&D sites selected

We are happy to announce that the states of Georgia and Washington are our partners for the QIC-ChildRep R&D sites.

On July 16, 2011 Don Duquette presented on the broad scope of the QIC-Childrep at the ABA Children and the Law National Conference in Washington, DC.  To see his power point, click here.

 

June 2011

The National Quality Improvement Center on Child Representation is proceeding nicely. In June, the QIC Model Curriculum Training was piloted for 25 Michigan lawyers. (Click here to see article.)  The QIC partners from Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago, Georgia and Washington State were in attendance.

October 22-23, 2010 - QIC Presentation at NACC 33rd National Juvenile and Family Law Conference, Austin, Texas

October 19, 2010 - RFP Design posted for comments.

September 30, 2010 - Draft Implementation Plan Reported to Children's Bureau.

September 20-21, 2010 Second

July 22, 2010 - Don Duquette to speak to the 2010 National Court Improvement Project Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.

July 15, 2010 - QIC-ChildRep Website goes public.

April 26-27, 2010 - The First Advisory Committee Meeting convened Washington, DC.

March 2010 - Needs Assessment Key Informant Interviews begin for 10 states.

February 8, 2010 - The First Advisory Committee Meeting is snowed out in a record-setting, historic snow storm -  “Snowmaggedon”.

December 9, 2009 - The QIC team makes initial presentation to the U.S. Children’s Bureau.  The major collaborators are introduced – National Association of Counsel for Children, American Bar Foundation and KidsVoice.  Children’s Bureau approves the work plan.

October 1, 2009  - U.S. Children’s Bureau announces that the University of Michigan Law School will serve as the National QIC for Child Representation.  Professor Don Duquette is project director with Karl Ensign and Pal-Tech, Inc of Alexandria VA as major partner.
